Franciscan Poor Clare Sisters of Duncan

 Our monastery is located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley,
surrounded by tall evergreens as well as some deciduous trees, notably
maple and alder. This beauty of creation gives our prayer a uniquely
Franciscan quality. As St. Clare wished, most of our property is
undeveloped and uncultivated except for the flower and vegetable
gardens.
Our setting provides a natural enclosure where we live
together as sisters whose lives are centered on seeking God. We pray,
work, play together always striving to create a harmony that will
foster the growth of each person and be a positive energy to the world
around us.
 Our chapel windows open to the nature that surrounds us, keeping us in touch with the changing seasons and moods of nature. The open seating unites all in a unity of praise and worship.
